Neighbors helping neighbors.

Dwell is a community-based project inviting households to participate in the solution to the housing crisis they face together with their neighbors. Home owners personally invest in their own renovation project and contribute to the housing needs of their neighbors. And as we construct secure homes, we are also building a stronger community.

The "Dwell" Process

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

1

To start the process, people in the community come together to form a “neighborhood group”. These groups commit to helping one another with their home renovation projects over the next several years.

2

These neighborhood groups meet weekly to discuss the progress of the current project, to encourage each other in their contributions, and to build stronger relationships that will bless their community.

3

The members of the neighborhood group then decide the order in which their homes will be renovated. The members commit to work alongside the builders for each renovation project within their group.

When the members of the neighborhood group contribute labor and materials to another neighbor's home, they are given points through our incentive program.

Our Incentive Program

To encourage community involvement, we have implemented an incentive program. When neighbors contribute labor and materials to another neighbor’s home, they are given points that reflect the monetary value of their contribution. At the end of each renovation project, the members trade in their points for rewards that will help make their home a healthier environment.
